Xotic AI image and video generator: our paid test, prompts and results
Buttons marked “Try” are affiliate links: we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How this works.Polished pictures, loose with instructions. We asked for the same café portrait in English, French and German. The English image kept the café and the mug but changed the outfit and pose; the German and French ones put the character in an office. The five-second video added the wave we asked for. One image and one video cost 300 XOT — 30% of the month.
- Video: a five-second clip with the requested wave, scene kept, 250 XOT
- Images: 50 XOT each, none faithful to the brief
- Why: saved character settings were added before our prompt and pulled the other way
A frame from our five-second Xotic video, 21 October 2026. Léa is an AI-generated character, aged 25 in her saved profile — a live capture, not an image made by us. Our overall verdict is in the full Xotic AI review.
Our prompt
We used Léa, a private character aged 25, and asked for a simple, fully clothed portrait, with details precise enough to check:
Photorealistic editorial portrait of Léa, an adult woman aged 25, wearing an opaque green crew-neck sweater and blue jeans, seated at a wooden cafe table, holding a red ceramic mug with both hands. Soft daylight from a window, waist-up framing, fully clothed, calm natural smile.
We sent the same request in English, French and German, with Xotic’s image tool (“Snap”), and kept the first result each time.
The English result: the right café, the wrong outfit
The first image from our English prompt, downloaded unretouched, 50 XOT.
| We asked for | We got |
|---|---|
| A café and a red mug | YES Both present |
| Blue jeans | YES |
| A green crew-neck sweater | NO A white high-neck sweater |
| Seated at the table | NO Standing |
| Mug held in both hands | NO One hand |
| Waist-up framing | NO A wider shot |
An attractive picture, usable as a casual portrait — but not the one we asked for, on details we had specified.
Why it missed: the settings you don’t see
Xotic’s “How it was made” panel shows the full text sent to the image engine. Before our café request, it had added the character’s saved styling tags: business attire, a white blouse, a pencil skirt, heels, glasses and an office background. Our prompt and those tags pulled in opposite directions.
The “How it was made” panel of our English image: the character’s saved office tags come first, our café request after.
Our advice: before paying for a retry, open the character’s image settings and remove the saved outfit and background that contradict what you want. Writing a longer prompt does not override them. We did not isolate which tag caused each mismatch.
The same prompt in German and French: an office
In German, the result moved further away: an office instead of a café, a sleeveless white blouse and a skirt over the jeans, standing, and no mug. Our French request gave the same kind of result — an office, a white blouse, no mug. Each image cost 50 XOT.
The first image from our German prompt, unretouched, 50 XOT: the office background and outfit come from the saved character settings, not from our request.
Three languages, three images, the same pattern: the saved settings won over the prompt. Writing in English kept more of our request, but the cause is the same.
The video: the wave we asked for
We turned the English image into a video with Xotic’s NOVA engine and asked for a static camera, a natural smile and a small wave with the free hand, keeping the mug, clothes and café.
The settings of our only video: NOVA Standard, “720p”, five seconds, “Auto as image”, sound enabled — 250 XOT.
Our original five-second clip, downloaded from Xotic on 21 October 2026, unedited.
The clip added the wave, and in the frames we checked the café, the red mug, the glasses, the sweater and the jeans stayed consistent. It also kept the image’s wrong outfit: a video animates the picture you give it, it does not fix it. The file measured about 5.04 seconds at 794 × 1160 pixels — “720p” is the interface label, not the real size. We did not assess the full motion or the sound.
A scene image in a Worlds story
In Xotic’s Worlds stories, “Snap the scene” illustrates the current moment. We asked for Eleanor in a reading room with a blue notebook, a brass key, a wooden table and bookshelves. The room and the objects were there; the outfit was not — a dark-green cardigan and black trousers became a white blouse, a navy cardigan and a grey skirt. Same cost as any image: 50 XOT.
Our Worlds scene image, 21 October 2026: the setting and props as requested, a different outfit.
What it cost
| Generation | XOT | Share of the 1,000 monthly XOT |
|---|---|---|
| One image (Snap) | 50 | 5% |
| One five-second video (NOVA, sound on) | 250 | 25% |
| One Worlds scene image | 50 | 5% |
| Our English image and video together | 300 | 30% |
Debits observed on our Ultimate account on 21 October 2026, matching Xotic’s cost guide that day. A retry costs the full price again; refunds of failed generations were not tested.
A video costs five images. Settle the picture first, then animate only the one you want to keep. The full price picture — plans, XOT and what a month buys — is in what Xotic Ultimate really costs, and how Xotic’s video price compares with eleven other platforms is in what one AI video really costs.
Good-looking output, weak on precision. If the exact outfit, pose or setting matters, check the character’s saved image settings before generating: they overrode our prompt in all three languages. The video did what we asked, but at 250 XOT, keep it for a picture you already like.
