What one video costs, and what that leaves you
On Dream Companion, a ten-second video costs 43 coins. That sounds like a small number, and on its own it is a meaningless one. The number that gives it a meaning sits on another screen: Premium grants 100 coins a month. One clip, and 43% of the month is gone — before a single image, before anything else you meant to do with the subscription.
Every video generator in this category prices its clips in a currency you cannot spend anywhere else, against an allowance printed on a different page. Neither number tells you what a video costs you. The ratio between them does, and no platform prints it.
So we did the division for every platform we rank. Twelve of the nineteen publish both numbers in units that match. On nine of those, even the cheapest clip takes a tenth of the month or more. On two, a single clip setting can take all of it.

A video’s price is a share of the month, not a number of tokens
Two numbers make the cost of a generated clip. The first is on the button: 50 tokens, 90 Chips, 1,200 Moments. The second is on the plan page: 200 tokens a month, 600 Chips, 8,000 Moments. Taken alone, each is useless — 43 coins is a fortune on a platform that grants 100 and pocket change on one that grants 8,000.
Divide the first by the second and you get the only figure that compares across platforms while you are inside a subscription, which is where most video gets made: the share of the month one clip consumes. Turn it upside down and it answers the question every plan card avoids — how many clips does this month actually buy?
This is a different question from the cash price. What one generated image really costs multiplied action costs by pack rates; that arithmetic only starts to matter once the monthly grant is spent, and we come back to it further down. First, the month.
What one clip takes from a month, on the twelve we could measure
These are the platforms where the plan page names a monthly grant and the video generator or help pages name a clip cost in the same unit. The percentages are ours — clip cost divided by monthly grant — not a figure any platform displays.

Clip costs read on each platform’s own generator or help pages between 14 and 21 August 2026; monthly grants read on each plan page over the same window. Every percentage in this table is our division — clip cost over monthly grant — and none is published by the platform. FLIRTcam.AI’s cost matrix was displayed on 14 August and hidden behind the Premium gate by 19 August. Swipey shows +200 Hearts on its 1-month plan without saying whether that is once or every month. Dreamz.ai’s costs come from a first-party payload its pricing page does not display; the short-video figure matches the 150-unit debit we observed on 14 August, the only clip generated for this guide. Every other figure is the price shown before pressing Generate, not a debit we saw. Percentages are rounded. Terms change regularly: check the generator and the plan page before you subscribe.
Read the table as a count of clips. At the cheapest setting each platform shows, the median grant buys six clips a month — four on DONDI and Dream Companion, ten on GoLove and OurDream, forty-four on Promptchan. That assumes nothing else touches the balance, and on most of these platforms images, voice and calls draw from the same pool.
Promptchan sits at the bottom of the table for a reason the percentage hides: video is sold only on Pro, its dearest plan, at $33.99 a month on 21 August against $14.99 for Plus. A small share of a large grant is still bought with the largest subscription.
DONDI’s row carries a contradiction of its own. The Premium card promises “Unlimited photos & videos”; the Help Center prices a five-second video at 50 tokens out of 200 a month. Both cannot be the rule, and we could not check which applies — the Studio stayed behind Premium in our free account.
Five seconds is the unit, and every option multiplies it
Eight of the twelve price a five-second clip as their base: DONDI, Dream Companion, Swipey, Xotic, Lovescape, OurDream, Secrets.ai and FLIRTcam.AI. That is the clip in the “cheapest” column. It is rarely the clip anyone describes when they imagine paying for video, and four kinds of option move the price away from it.
Length. Swipey AI prices duration in a straight line: 40 Hearts for five seconds, 80 for ten, 160 for twenty, 240 for thirty — eight Hearts a second. Dream Companion’s ten-second clip costs 43 coins against 23 for five, and FLIRTcam.AI’s doubled from five seconds to ten.
Resolution. On FLIRTcam.AI‘s August matrix, the same five seconds cost 40 tokens at 480p, 80 at 720p and 120 at 1080p. Sharper is triple.
Engine. Xotic AI‘s public rate card lists 150 XOT for a V1 clip, 250 for V2 and 500 for V3 — the same five seconds at 3.3 times the price depending on the model behind it. Lovescape showed 90 Chips on its Unbound model and 180 on another. OurDream AI‘s cost guide lists standard video at 100 DreamCoins per five seconds and Ultra at 200, while a Cinematic five-second setup showed 250 on screen.
Sound. OurDream charges 20 DreamCoins for every second of audio, which on a five-second standard clip is another 100 — the price of the clip again. Promptchan adds 3 Gems. Secrets.ai turns audio on by default in its Advanced mode.
None of these options was hidden: each was on the screen next to its price. But the share you work out for the default clip is not the share you will pay for the clip you actually want, and the gap between the two columns of the table is where a month’s grant disappears.
A clip is priced in pictures
Where the same currency pays for images and for video, a platform’s own price list sets an exchange rate between the two — and it is the easiest way to feel what a clip costs.
On Lovescape and Xtease, a 90-Chip clip is the price of ten 9-Chip images. On DONDI, a 50-token clip is ten images at the five-token floor. On Secrets.ai, the 1,200-Moment setup we priced is twelve images at 2K. On OurDream, a standard clip is ten two-image runs. The range runs from about three and a half images on Promptchan to fourteen for a ten-second Dream Companion clip, but ten images for five seconds of video is the rate three platforms land on exactly.
Which is also the way to read what a clip leaves you. After one ten-second clip on Dream Companion, Premium has 57 coins left: nineteen images, for the rest of the month. After one V3 clip on Xotic AI, Ultimate has 500 XOT left: ten images. On GoLove AI, where the baseline is five Stars out of fifty, the first standard clip leaves forty-five images’ worth — and GoLove markets the first video message as free, so the first one may leave all fifty.
When the grant runs out, a clip has a cash price
Inside the subscription, the share is the number that counts. Once the grant is spent, the next clip comes out of a top-up pack, and then the pack rate decides. Eight of the twelve publish both a pack ladder and a clip cost, so the cash price of the cheapest clip can be worked out at both ends of the ladder.
| Platform | Cheapest clip | From the smallest pack | From the largest pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swipey AI | 40 Hearts, 5 s | €7.99 | €3.04 |
| Dream Companion | 23 coins, 5 s | $2.30 | $0.92 |
| DONDI | 50 tokens, 5 s | $2.00 | $0.80 |
| Promptchan | 18 Gems | $1.80 | $0.54 |
| Dreamz.ai | 150, short video | $1.50 | $0.67 |
| GoLove AI | 5 Stars, baseline | €1.50 | €0.43 |
| Xotic AI | 150 XOT, V1, 5 s | $1.36 | $0.83 |
| OurDream AI | 100, standard 5 s | €1.20 — a single add-on, €11.99 per 1,000 | |
Clip costs as in the first table; pack prices read on each top-up screen between 14 and 21 August 2026, in the currency each one charged us, and not converted between currencies. Every cash figure in this table is our arithmetic — clip cost multiplied by pack rate — and none of them is published by the platform. No pack was purchased, so tax, refundability and expiry are not established. Rows are ordered by the price from the smallest pack.
The top row is not a typo. Swipey’s smallest pack sells 50 Hearts for €9.99 and the cheapest clip costs 40 of them: €7.99 for five seconds. A thirty-second clip from the same pack is €47.95, and still €18.26 from the largest. Hearts also pay for chat at two a message, so that one five-second clip is also twenty messages.
Elsewhere the figures look modest — one to two dollars or euros for the cheapest clip from the smallest pack. They are base rates. Apply the options from the previous section and they move fast: a V3 clip on Xotic from its smallest pack is $4.54, a ten-second Dream Companion clip $4.30, a long HD clip on Dreamz.ai $4.00.
Four of the twelve stay out of this table. Lovescape sells Chips to active subscribers only, so the rate becomes visible after you have paid. On Secrets.ai, FLIRTcam.AI and Xtease, the top-up screen is one we did not open, and it is marked untested in each review rather than filled in. What a credit is actually worth lists every pack ladder we could read.
Seven platforms where the division stops
On three, the plan and the generator count in different units. Joi AI is the strangest case, because its plan cards do the very division this guide does: up to 5 videos a month on the plan we would start with, up to 20 and 100 on the other two cards. Then the video screen charges 300 Neurons to create a clip and 250 more to extend it, the plan grants Coins, and no first-party conversion between Coins and Neurons exists. Kupid AI also counts videos on its plans — 8 a week on Premium, 25 on Ultra — while its Studio prices a clip at 16 to 120 coins depending on length and quality, without explaining which of the two meters pays. DarLink AI grants 100, 300 or 500 Coins a month and prices video at 20 Tokens; if the two units run one-for-one, a clip is 20% of the entry grant, but DarLink never says they do.
On four, no clip price appeared at all. Candy AI grants 100 tokens a month on Premium, and its new video studio keeps Generate disabled until a character and an action are chosen; no cost was established. Get Harder grants 100 tokens a month and offers 1, 2 or 4 videos per run with no cost shown in the empty state. Kindroid documents video selfies and says the per-video debit appears in the app, at a point our new account did not reach. GPTGirlfriend advertises in-chat video up to five seconds on Premium and ten on Deluxe, but the free account had no video generator and no cost was displayed.
The distinction matters for what you can do about it. Joi, Kupid and DarLink have made the division impossible for anyone until they publish a conversion. The four others may well show the price at the right moment — inside a paid account, after the choices are made — which is simply a moment we did not reach. Our protocol marks all seven untested rather than estimating.
Before subscribing for video, find two numbers: the cost on the video button at the settings you actually want, and the monthly grant on the plan page. Divide the first by the second. On nine of the twelve platforms we could measure, the cheapest clip is already a tenth of the month or more.
Then count in clips, not tokens. Six a month is the median at the cheapest setting, and every option — length, resolution, engine, sound — cuts it. If you also want images, convert at the platform’s own rate: on several, one five-second clip is ten pictures.
If the plan grants one unit and the generator spends another, or the button shows no price until after you have subscribed, stop there: you cannot budget a video you cannot divide, and neither could we.
What a video generator should show
The price of each setting, before you press. Most of the twelve do this, and do it well: Secrets.ai, Lovescape, Xtease, OurDream, Swipey and Dream Companion all displayed the clip’s cost on screen before Generate, and Secrets.ai updates it with every setting. FLIRTcam.AI did in August and then moved it behind the Premium gate. Dreamz.ai debited the whole remaining balance for our one clip without a confirmation step, a story told in full in our guide to what an AI companion costs.
The share of the month. None does. The plan says 1,000 tokens and the button says 120; no screen says “12% of your month”. Joi and Kupid come closest by counting videos on the plan card, and both then charge through a second meter beside it.
What a failed or unusable clip costs. Undocumented almost everywhere. The only clip we generated arrived in about a minute and drifted from the character’s hairstyle and clothing. A reroll on video is not the small sum it is on an image: it is a second share of the month. The per-image version of this arithmetic is in what one generated image really costs, the unit prices underneath both are in what a credit is actually worth, and the subscription totals they attach to are in the gap between the advertised price and the billed one.
