How this site makes money

That is the whole disclosure, and it is required by the US Federal Trade Commission. The rest of this page explains what it does and does not buy, because a disclosure without an editorial policy behind it is just a formality.

What commission does not buy

Not a score. Every platform is rated on the same nine criteria with the same weights, and the grid is published in full, weights included. A commercial relationship is not one of the criteria.

Not a position in the rankings. The table on the rankings page is sorted by score. Nobody buys a place in it, and no line is moved by hand.

Not a mention, and not silence. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews or guest posts. When a paying partner disappoints, the criticism is published exactly as it would be for anyone else — if our scores never moved, they would not be worth reading.

Not a preview. No platform sees a review before publication, and none has ever had a score changed on request. Operators are welcome to correct a fact; that is a different conversation.

Where the links are

Affiliate links appear on the buttons and platform names that lead to a provider’s site — in the rankings table, in the reviews, and in the guides. They are marked at the top of every page that carries them.

Not every platform pays us. Some of the most important apps in this category run no affiliate programme at all, and they are reviewed on the same grid as the rest. Nothing on the page tells the two apart, and nothing should: a guide that only covers what it earns from is not a guide.

What we test before we recommend

Reviews are written from hands-on use, starting on each platform’s free tier. Where a criterion could only be assessed from what a platform publishes rather than from what we saw ourselves, it is capped and the review carries a provisional score until the paid tier has been tested. Those scores are revised in both directions — several will go down.

We would rather show you the ceiling than pretend we have seen behind it. Every review carries a last-verified date, and pricing in this market changes fast: always confirm the current price on the platform’s own checkout screen before you pay.

If something looks wrong
